The Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) advised airlines to submit their proposed timing for recovery flights.
“I have lifted the daily maintenance closure of the international runway to give the airlines ample room to plan their recovery flights,” MIAA General Manager Cesar Chiong said in a separate statement.
The MIAA said precautionary measures are already in place, including the activation of its emergency response teams.
Personnel were also deployed to tie down boarding bridges and secure billboards within the vicinity of the four terminals, and airside and landside facilities.
“Rest assured that MIAA will utilize all its available resources to ensure continuous operations given the situation,” Chiong said.
