SWS: 60% of Pinoys believe nat’l govt has more responsibility in solving COVID-19 crisis

Three out of five Filipinos or 60% believe said that the national government has greater responsibility in resolving the COVID-19 crisis, a Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey showed.
The SWS poll, conducted last July 3 to 6, also revealed that 23% believe that the local government, not the national government, is more responsible in addressing the COVID-19 pandemic, while 14% of the respondents said that the national and local governments are equally responsible.
The belief that the national government has greater responsibility in addressing problems brought by the COVID-19 pandemic is highest among elementary graduates at 66%; 63% among non-elementary graduates; 61% among junior high school graduates; 53% among college graduates; and 58% among those with some college education.
By location, 61% of those in Metro Manila believe that the national government has more responsbility amid the COVID-19 pandemic, while those in Balance Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao all reached 60%.
The SWS poll was conducted using mobile phone and computer-assisted telephone interview of 1,555 adult Filipinos aged 18 years old and above nationwide. Of this number, 306 are in the National Capital Region, 451 in Balance Luzon, 388 in the Visayas, and 410 in Mindanao.
The sampling error margins are ±2% for national percentages, ±6% for Metro Manila, ±5% for Balance Luzon, ±5% for the Visayas and ±5% for Mindanao.
