Netizen creates clever, hilarious ad to get people to wash their hands amid COVID19
A netizen came up with a clever and hilarious ad featuring a well-known food seasoning to remind everybody to please wash their hands!
The ad featured a liquid seasoning, both familiar and a favorite among Pinoys.
It had a slogan that read, “Wash your hands, as if you were trying to wash away our smell.”
Paul Kristianne Hidalgo, who is a professional creative director from Glocal Philippines, told GMA News Online that he decided to create this ad after using the popular seasoning on his lunch.
Hidalgo said after washing the dishes, he realized the lingering scent of the seasoning was still there and he had to scrub extra hard just to clean his hands.
“Then I thought of the idea for the ad, and how it would be a great reminder for people to wash their hands thoroughly, to keep safe,” Hidalgo said.
Filipino netizens were able to relate to the ad. He posted the ad on Sunday afternoon and as of writing, it already has more than 11,000 reactions and nearly 8,000 shares.
And it seems to sit well with Knorr, too — the brand Hidalgo used in his ad. On Monday, Knorr reposted Hidalgo’s ad on its Facebook account. “Tama ka diyan, Paul!” Knorr said. “Level up your food with Knorr Liquid Seasoning, tapos level up your handwashing rin!
Experts and medical professionals globally have been highlighting the crucial role of proper handwashing protection against COVID-19.
According to a report on Agence France Presse, “contaminated hands are a major route for germ transmission, potentially spreading pathogens to surfaces — like door handles or taps — and causing infection when people touch their faces.”
In the Philippines, there are 6,529 COVID-19 cases with 572 recoveries and 409 deaths as of April 19, according to the Department of Health. — LA, GMA News
