Metro Manila could sizzle in 34 C weather: PAGASA

Time to cool down, Kapamilya. Weather bureau PAGASA is predicting hotter weather ahead, with temperatures in Metro Manila possibly reaching as high as 34 degrees Celsius Thursday. 

PAGASA weather forecaster Obet Badrina said temperatures in Metro Manila reached as high as 31.5 degrees Celsius on Wednesday while the heat index at NAIA reached 35 degrees Celsius maximum temperature. 

The highest heat index, however, was recorded in Tuguegarao, which hit 40 degrees Celsius yesterday.

Badrina said temperatures will go even higher this month until May. The northeast monsoon (amihan), however, could lower temperatures in parts of Northern Luzon and even Metro Manila until Saturday.

Batanes will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains due to the northeast monsoon.

Temperatures in Cebu and the Visayas will range between 26 degrees-32 degrees Celsius; and 25 degrees-33 degrees Celsius in Metro Davao.
