The Southwest Monsoon or Habagat continues to affect the western sections of Central and southern Luzon on Thursday and will bring rain showers across the region in the next 24 hours, PAGASA said.

In its 4 p.m. daily weather bulletin, the state weather bureau said Kalayaan Islands will have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the Habagat.

Flash floods or landslides may result due to moderate to heavy rains.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country, meanwhile, will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the easterlies and localized thunderstorms.

Residents were advised to prepare for possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.

The wind speed forecast for the western section of Luzon will be moderate while coastal water conditions will be moderate, ranging from 1.2 meters to 2.5 meters.

Light to moderate wind speeds will be experienced by the rest of the country, with slight to moderate coastal water conditions ranging from 0.6 meters to 2.1 meters. — Mel Matthew Doctor/BM, GMA News
