Southwest Monsoon affecting Luzon.  

Forecast:

Monsoon rains which may trigger flashfloods and landslides will be experienced over Ilocos region and the provinces of Benguet, Zambales, Bataan, Tarlac and Pampanga. Cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and thunderstorms is expected over Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon. Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms will be experienced over the rest of the country. Moderate to strong winds blowing from the southwest will prevail throughout the archipelago and the coastal waters will be moderate to rough.

The "Habagat" (Southwest Monsoon) will continue to bring moderate to occasionally heavy rains over the Ilocos Region and over the provinces of Benguet, Zambales and Bataan. Residents in these areas are advised to keep monitoring and be alert for possible flash floods and landslides.

Light to occasionally heavy rains and isolated thunderstorms is expected to prevail over Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon.

Meanwhile, the Low Pressure Area(LPA) was estimated based on all available data at 1360 km east of Baler, Aurora(14.7°N, 134.2°E).

The public and disaster risk reduction and management councils concerned are advised to take the necessary precautionary measures. The next update on this weather system will be incorporated in the Public Weather Forecast to be issued at 5:00 PM today while the next advisory will be issued at 11:00 AM tomorrow.
