Filipinos abroad with COVID-19 increase to 6,128 -DFA

Thirty-seven more Filipinos abroad on Friday have tested positive for the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), bringing the total tally to 6,128, according to the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA).

The DFA also announced that total recoveries rose to 2,849 with six new recoveries while 11 more fatalities brought the death toll to 483.

As of June 19, there are a total of 2,796 patients undergoing treatment.

Data from the DFA showed there are a total of 570 cases in the Asia Pacific region with 73 patients still undergoing treatment. Five more recoveries brought the total to 490, while fatalities remained at two.

The Middle East or Africa, meanwhile, reported a total of 3,937 cases with 2,022 patients still undergoing treatment. Total recoveries again rose by one to 1,692 while total fatalities jumped to 223 with 11 new ones.

In Europe, total cases increased to 912 with 538 patients still undergoing treatment. Total recoveries and fatalities remained at 305 and 94, respectively.

Meanwhile, no new cases were reported in the Americas with total cases remaining at 684, recoveries at 362, fatalities at 164, and patients undergoing treatment at 158. -NB, GMA News
