DFA: 15 more overseas Filipinos catch COVID-19, but no new fatalities

MANILA – Fifteen more overseas Filipinos caught COVID-19, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said Saturday.
The new cases pushed the tally of overseas infections among Filipinos to 8,432.
In its latest bulletin, the agency reported no new coronavirus-related recoveries or fatalities. The death toll stood at 536 while 5,081 have recovered from the disease.
“The DFA continues to keep track of the status of Filipinos abroad and work to safely repatriate more of our stranded nationals home as we keep on this fight against this pandemic!” it said in a statement.
To date, some 2,815 Filipino patients abroad are undergoing treatment for COVID-19, broken down as follows by region: 84 in the Asia Pacific Region, 468 in Europe, 2,114 in the Middle East and Africa, and 149 in the Americas.
In the Philippines, the novel coronavirus has so far infected 34,803 people, with 1,236 fatalities and 9,430 recoveries.
