The provincial government of Cagayan on Friday suspended classes in public and private schools in all levels, and work in the government and private sector due to Typhoon Kiko.

“Suspension of classes in public and private schools in all levels, and work in government and private entity was declared effective 6:00 a.m. 10 September 2021 until further notice,” the Cagayan provincial government said in an advisory.

The liquor ban is likewise imposed “until Typhoon Kiko will exit the area of responsibility (AOR),” the advisory added.

Likewise, the public and local disaster risk reduction management councils were advised to take all necessary measures and appropriate actions.

Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal (TCWS) No. 3 is still hoisted over two areas as Typhoon Kiko continued to threaten extreme northern Luzon with a possible landfall over the Cagayan area, PAGASA said Friday.

Signal no. 2 was raised over the remaining eastern portion of mainland Cagayan (Aparri, Camalaniugan, Lal-Lo, Gattaran, Baggao, Peñablanca, Buguey, Santa Teresita, Tuguegarao City, Iguig, Amulung, Alcala, Allacapan, Lasam, Ballesteros, Abulug).
