Bayanihan Musikahan raises more than P51 million as of April 20

As of April 20, 2020, at 5 PM, we were able to raise P51,882,017.55, thank you for your continuous efforts in championing citizen action and #BayanihanMusikahan‘s cause!

Philippine Business for Social Progress (PBSB) in partnership with a broad range of Filipino musical artists answering the call of National Artist for Music, Ryan Cayabyab, is raising funds to immediately address the food and personal protection needs of the most vulnerable Filipinos in the National Capital Region.

As the pandemic blows through the country, the poor will be hit hard without extraordinary effort, on the part of their co-citizens, to reach them with survival packages. This project is already organized to roll-out with the participation of two non-government organizations, Likhaan and the Samahang Nagkakaisa Pantawid Pamilya–the latter, a 250,000-strong organization of the urban poor themselves.

The survival packs were developed by Caritas Manila. All proceeds from the nightly sequence of concerts will first of all increase the production volume of these packs for distribution. Secondly, the donations will help establish barangay quarantine spaces, so that poor communities are provided the capacity to isolate the sick—and still have them in the general vicinity of their loved ones, while preventing further contagion.
