Año on NCR’s quarantine status after June 30: Too early to say

Interior Secretary Eduardo Año on Thursday said it is too early to determine if the National Capital Region will be reverted to modified enhanced community quarantine or it will be placed under modified general community quarantine after June 30.
“It is too early to say or to conclude kasi kailangan pa nating i-tally lahat at mayroon pang ilang nalalabing araw bago mag-July 1 o June 30,” Año said during the Laging Handa press briefing.
“Titingnan muna natin o papakinggan ‘yung report ng TWG on data analytics para makapagdecide tayo,” he added.
President Rodrigo Duterte has extended the GCQ in Metro Manila until June 30. This means more industries have resumed operations and a limited number of public transport vehicles are catering to the needs of commuters.
Experts from the University of the Philippines earlier said that COVID-19 cases in the Philippines increased slightly after the government relaxed community quarantines in some parts of the country.
So far, the Philippines has 32,295 confirmed cases, with 8,656 recoveries and 1,204 fatalities. — RSJ, GMA News
