7 more Pinoys abroad get COVID-19; total at 10,035 —DFA

The number of Filipinos overseas who have contracted COVID-19 rose to 10,035 on Wednesday after the Department of Foreign Affairs reported seven new cases.

Total recoveries also increased to 6,076 after 47 more Filipinos defeated the illness, while the death roll remained at 742.

The Middle East or Africa remained the region with the highest number of confirmed COVID-19 cases among Filipinos overseas at 6,949 with 461 deaths and 4,156 recoveries.

Europe followed with 1,163 infections, including 95 fatalities and 702 recoveries.

The Asia Pacific Region, meanwhile, has recorded 1,128 cases with eight deaths and 764 recoveries.

In the Americas, 795 Filipinos were infected with the disease. Of the number, 178 have died, while 454 have recovered. — Ma. Angelica Garcia/BM, GMA News
