23 more Filipinos abroad test positive for COVID-19; total at 8,324 —DFA

Twenty-three more Filipinos abroad have tested positive for the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), bringing the total to 8,324, according to the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA).
The DFA also announced that total recoveries rose to 5,057 with two new ones, while two more fatalities brought the death toll to 508.
At present, there are 2,759 patients undergoing treatment.
Data from the DFA showed there are a total of 574 cases in the Asia Pacific region with 80 patients undergoing treatment. Total recoveries and fatalities remained at 492 and two, respectively.
The Middle East or Africa, meanwhile, reported 6,104 cases with 2,081 patients still undergoing treatment. Total recoveries rose to 3,775 with one new case while fatalities rose to 248 with two new deaths.
In Europe, total cases were recorded at 961 with 450 patients undergoing treatment. One more recovery brought the total to 417 while the death toll in the region remained at 94.
Meanwhile, the Americas reported a total of 685 cases with 148 patients undergoing treatment. The number of recoveries and the death toll remained at 373 and 164, respectively. — Joahna Lei Casilao/BM, GMA News
