Severe Tropical Storm NINA entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) on or about 0200H 23 December 2016. It gained strength as it moved closer to land.
It made a land fall in Catanduanes around 1830H 25 December 2016, and continued to plow through mainland Bicol provinces of Albay, Camarines Sur and Norte and CALABARZON. At 2340H of 27 December 2016 Nina left PAR. (please see full details in Severe Weather Bulletin below)
TY NINA affected Regions 4A, 4B, 5, 8. There are 147 municipalities affected with 13,2908 families. (For the complete details please read the Situation Reports below.)
The Philippine Government responded through NDRRMC Response Pillar. NDRRMC Reponse Cluster were activated since 1500H 25 December 2016. OPLAN NINA was activated.
Response Cluster has continuously sent assistance to the affected areas even soon as typhoon path has been determined before the landfall to date. Constant monitoring of damages, needs and corresponding response is continously done between the National Operations Center and the affected LGU’s. (please see full details in Response Action below)
