Typhoon INENG (“GONI”) entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) on the afternoon of 18 August 2015. It exited PAR at midnight of 23 August 2015.
A total of 205 incidents were monitored – 129 flooding, twenty-five (25) river swelling, fifteen (15) damaged river/flood control, thirteen (13) landslides/rockslides, ten (10) collapsed structures, seven (7) tornadoes, four (4) fallen tree, one (1) hit by a branch of tree, and one (1) maritime incident. For the casualties, a total of thirty-two (32) persons were reported dead in Mountain Province, Kalinga, Abra, Benguet, La Union, Ilocos Norte, Zambales, and Ilocos Sur; twenty-four (24) were reported injured in Mountain Province, Benguet, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, Batanesm and Cagayan; and eight (8) are still missing in Ilocos Norte, Cagayan, Benguet and Zambales.
For affected population, a total of 71,955 families/318,359 persons were evacuated in Regions I, II, III, IV-A, IV-B, and CAR. Of which 2,966 families/11,915 persons were still inside the evacuation center while 68,986 families/306,423 persons were staying outside evacuation centers. Of this total number of affected population, 2,017 families/8,426 persons were pre-emptively evacuated.
