MAYON VOLCANO BULLETIN 18 February 2015 8:00 A.M

18 February 2015 8:00 A.M. Mayon Volcano’s seismic monitoring network did not detect any volcanic earthquake during the past 24 hours. Moderate emission of white steam plumes that drifted northwest was observed. No crater glow was observed last night. Sulfur dioxide (SO2) emitted at the crater averaged 259 tonnes/day last 09 December 2014 is below the baseline level during normal periods. Data from the ground deformation survey on January 20-31, 2015 indicated

MAYON VOLCANO BULLETIN 16 February 2015 8:00 A.M.

16 February 2015 8:00 A.M. Mayon Volcano’s seismic monitoring network did not detect any volcanic earthquake during the past 24 hours. No visual observations could be conducted due to cloudy weather. Sulfur dioxide (SO2) emitted at the crater averaged 259 tonnes/day last 09 December 2014 is below the baseline level during normal periods. Data from the ground deformation survey on January 20-31, 2015 indicated a deflation of the edifice relative to the November 27-29, 2014 survey, although the edifice remains inflated relative to baseline measurements beginning 2010. Data from continuous tilt monitoring indicate that magma has stalled deep beneath the northern flanks of the volcano, although the edifice is still inflated or swollen compared to baseline levels.

 TAAL VOLCANO BULLETIN 16 February 2015 8:00 A.M.

TAAL VOLCANO BULLETIN 16 February 2015 8:00 A.M.

16 February 2015 8:00 A.M. Taal Volcano’s seismic network recorded twenty four (24) volcanic earthquakes during the past 24 hours. Field measurements conducted on February 12, 2015 at the western sector of the Main Crater Lake recorded no change in water temperature of 29.5°C, a decrease in water level from 0.82 to 0.74 meter, and an increase in acidity from pH 3.10 to pH 3.09. Ground deformation measurements through precise leveling surveys on November 19 - 30, 2014 indicated slight inflation of the edifice compared to June 2014. Ground deformation measurements from GPS data also indicate an inflationary trend since May 2014, with the edifice being slightly inflated compared to February 2011 baseline data. Carbon dioxide (CO2) emission at the Main Crater Lake decreased from 2185 tonnes/day in November 2014 to 1980 tonnes/day in January 2015.
