5 dead in gun attacks

Celso Amo (The Philippine Star) - April 10, 2018 - 12:00am MANILA, Philippines — Unidentified men gunned down five persons in Albay and Rizal on Sunday. Gasoline station helper Claudio Lomerio and store assistant Darlo Lorena were at a barbeque stand in Barangay Inarado, Daraga at about 7:45 p.m. when motorcycle-riding men opened fire

Lomerio died at the scene. Lorena died while being treated at the Bicol Regional Training and Teaching Hospital yesterday morning.

Sherwin Marbella, who was hit by a stray bullet, was declared out of danger in the same hospital.

Probers said the fatalities were drug surrenderees.

In Rizal, Ferdie Odo, an Army reservist, and his wife Gina were drinking liquor at their residence in Barangay Pinugay, Baras when they were shot.

Senior Inspector Armando Moises, Baras police chief, said probers are looking into a grudge as the motive for the killing.

June Michael Adul was driving his motorcycle when he was shot along Don Mariano Marcos extension road in Barangay San Jose, Rodriquez, at around 8:10 p.m.

Adul died at the scene. His companion Maisie Lopez was unhurt. – Ed Amoroso
