Mandaue City fires raze 200 homes, warehouse

Leleth Rumaguera, ABS-CBN News Posted at Jan 01 2017 03:16 PM MANDAUE CITY - Some 200 houses and an electronics warehouse were damaged in three separate fires in this southern city during the New Year's Day revelries on Sunday, authorities said.



There were no immediate reports of injuries.

A blaze hit a residential area in Maguikay village at 1:05 a.m., razing 120 houses and causing an estimated P1.2 million in damage.

Earlier, at around 1 a.m., 90 houses were gutted in a fire in Guizo village.

In Looc village, around 12:30 a.m., an electronics warehouse was set on fire after a lantern fell on its roof, according to security guard Florentino Cañazares.

The blaze caused an estimated P900,000 in damage.
