STATUS: WIDESPREAD AND INTENSE TRANSMISSION

ISOLATION / TREATMENT CENTRES (ETCs)

As at 21 December, the country had 833 beds in 17 ETCs, up from 615 the previous week. The ETCs are located in eastern province (2), southern province (1), northern province (5) and western province (9).The World Health Organization (WHO) estimates that 2,020 beds are required in total, which has been revised up since early December in response to ongoing intense transmission. The number of operational Community Care Centre (CCC) beds fell to 291 (as at 19 December) from 329 the week before, with the WHO predicting 1,208 CCC beds will be required.
